Jan Ellen Ruderman (nee Lederman)

A dazzling light was dimmed when Jan Ellen Ruderman (nee Lederman) passed away on December 31, 2023. She was predeceased by her father, Dr. Alfred Lederman. She is survived her mother, Geraldine Silver Lederman, and her brother, Rob Lederman (Kathi). She is also survived by her partner, best friend, and husband of 41 years, Tom Ruderman, her cherished children and their spouses, Matt Ruderman (Betsy) and Alyssa Hager (Ross), by her three beautiful grandchildren, Will, Cora, and Milo, by two nieces and two nephews, and by close friends who became family.

Jan was a graduate of Amherst High School and earned a BS in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University. She went on to earn an MBA from Cleveland State University where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Jan worked at Hartford Healthcare for 25 years in a series of progressively responsible leadership roles. She retired as Vice President, Tallwood Urology and Kidney Institute. Jan helped design and launch the Tallwood Institute, as well as the Tallwood Men's Health facility. Although she achieved professional success and impact as an executive at Hartford Healthcare, friends and family were her priorities. To know Jan was to love, respect, and admire her. Jan exuded warmth, kindness, compassion, and love.  Her example inspired others to be better people, and her impact on others will be enduring.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rawad Elias for the compassionate and skilled care he provided and for truly caring about Jan as a person.
