Samuel Leonard Golden 

July 12, 1928 – January 16, 2024

Beloved husband of Dorothy Golden and the late Norma Golden; loving father of Robyn (late Natalie) and Steven (Caren) Golden, cherished stepfather of Penny, Jay (Robin) and Janet (Andres) Weinstein; son of the late Abe and Henriette Golden; brother of the late Shirelle Rechnitz; devoted grandfather of Roxana Kabalkin, Nicole and Joshua Golden; step grandfather of Ian Weinstein; great grandfather of Julia Kabalkin.

Sam graduated from Syracuse University with an accounting degree. At Syracuse he met his wife the late Norma (Siegel) Golden. He was a proud Orangemen that spread his love of Syracuse down to his grandson, Joshua, who recently graduated from Syracuse as well. After a few years in Syracuse, he and Norma moved to Buffalo where she had been raised. He worked as a comptroller at Benderson Development for 40 years. In his later years, he worked for Jewish Philanthropies of Buffalo. After Norma’s passing, he met and married Dorothy (Everett) Golden. He and Dorothy were happily married for over 35 years. Sam had a love of art, architecture, music, sports, Jeopardy, crossword puzzles, and sweets.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday 11AM at MESNEKOFF FUNERAL HOME, 8630 Transit Rd., E. Amherst 14051. A shiva will be held Sunday following the interment until 6PM, Monday 1-4 & 6-8PM and Tuesday 1-4 & 6-8PM at Samuel and Dorothy’s residence, 210 Sherbrooke Ave., Williamsville, NY 14221.
