Susan N. Siegel, February 16, 1946 to August 23, 2026. Daughter of the late Evelyn and Ramond Siegel. Susan graduated from P.S. 66, Bennett High School, University of Buffalo with a B.A. in English Education and Buffalo State College with a Masters Degree. She taught High School English in Buffalo; English as a foreign language in Israel. After returning from Israel, she began a new career working with volunteers. She was the first Director of Volunteers at Haven House; became the Executive Director of the Easter Seal Society and was the Associate Director for the Scott Newman Foundation in California. Upon returning from California, she was the Director of Volunteers at DeGraff Memorial Hospital; Children’s Hospital; Compeer and retired from Roswell Park Cancer Institute. She traveled all over the world and enjoyed the theater, reading, painting, mahjong, knitting and meeting with friends. She volunteered extensively including the Theodore Roosevelt House, Compeer, Sudio Arena and Jewish Repertory Theater. She was a board member on numerous boards throughout her life including Children and Family Services, Haven House, the Volunteer Progran for the United way of Buffalo, the Volunteer Administrators of WNY, the Holocaust Resource Center and chaired th Foster Grandparent Program for Catholic Charities, The Retired Senior Volunteer Progran in Niagara County and at her residence The Delaware Tower. Susan was a member of the Junior League of Buffalo, and the University of Buffalo Women’s Club. She was recognized for her achievements with several awards. She is survived by her brother, Henry J., nieces Rachel and Samantha and beloved Ostroff/Rybcynski cousins. Donations in Susan’s memory may be made to the Hospice foundation of WNY.
