Fay Cheskin
February 5, 1938 - August 11, 2024
Loving Mother of Steven (Malia) Cheskin, Marci (Ed) Bellaire, Mark (Monica) Cheskin and Lisa (Larry) Brzeczkowski; daughter of the late Isadore and Ida Goldwater; sister of Doris (late Melvin) Sunshine and the late Irving Goldwater and Ruthie Fernandez; grandmother of Drew, Jacen, Eliana and the late Jake; also survived by many nieces and nephews; former wife of Gibby Cheskin.
Fay was co-owner of Gibby's Young Fashions and managed the Kenmore location for many years. Later Fay moved to Delray Beach, Florida. She loved being in the warm weather and being close to her Florida family. She initially worked at Macy's and then returned to school and became a dental assistant and also helped run the office. Fay returned to Buffalo late in life and was happy to spend more time with her daughters and be closer to her sister. She was also thrilled when the Maryland and Florida Cheskins came to visit and loved being with her grandchildren.
Fay also loved her children's dogs which she referred to as her "poochie babies". She always had treats for them ready upon arrival.
Fay was an excellent cook and baker and was especially known for her Hello Dollies and Brownies. Everything she made tasted special as it was made with love.
She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was also an avid watcher of the news and newspaper and magazine reader.
Nothing made her happier though than being with her family, including her siblings and all of her nieces and nephews.
A Private Family service was held. Memorials may be made to The Jake Cheskin Memorial Scholarship Fund at www.alperjcc.org/pages/tributes/ or to White Whiskers Senior Dog Rescue. Arrangements by MESNEKOFF FUNERAL HOME. Share condolences at mesnekoff.com
